Instructions

1. Cut and fold red cardstock to make a folded card that measures 5 1/2" x 7".

2. Cut piece from fairy flora paper for background to measure 4 13/16" x 6 3/8".

3. Die cut scrollwork from a darker area of the same fairy flora large piece. Gently add just a bit of fired brick ink to the top edge of the scrolls using an ink blending tool.

4. Cut snowman from white cardstock. Cut both arms off the snowman. Using an ink blending tool sponge around edges with worn lipstick avoiding the hat and nose. Sponge extreme edges with fired brick. Sponge hat with black soot and nose with rusty hinge. Add shading to the hat with a black pencil.

5. Cut 2 snowmen from brown cardstock - all we are using is the arm that reaches up to the hat so cut 2 pieces of brown cardstock large enough to cover that area of the die and cut those. Cut arms away from snowman.

6. Cut 2 scalloped hearts from red cardstock, edge with fired brick ink and layer together with foam mounting tape or use a mini pop dot.

7. Determine placement of the hearts and the arms, bending the arms at the elbows for a natural look. Glue arms to body. Attach hearts to body with foam mounting tape or pop dot. Cut a slit in the end of each arm and place on either side of the hearts.

8. Attach snowman and scrollwork to background (trim scrollwork to match edges of background). {When I was actually making this card I had started with both my background and the folded card longer but as I was putting things together I decided it was too long and cut a strip off the bottom of each (note - the sizes stated in #1 and 2 are the finished sizes, not the size before I cut things off sizes).} Attach the strip cut from the background to the center of the open area at the bottom of the scrollwork piece after first sponging a bit of fired brick along both edges of the strip (you can see this strip behind the flower trim).

9. Stamp Love on background. Write 'is in the air' with black pen. Stamp small heart with flourish. Color in heart with red pen.

10. Add gold paint to edges of layered background piece using a sponge, let dry and attach to folded card.

11. Add heart charm and red gem on top of paper hearts, black gem for eye, flower trim and gold gems. Finish by adding red and black dots as shown.
