Instructions for making the Rising Hearts Card

Cut a piece of red cardstock to 5.5" x 9".

Download the template here.*

Print 2 copies of the template and lay one over the cardstock. Use removable tape to hold the template in place.

Cut out the hearts along the solid line - but only above the dotted scoring line. Use an X-acto and a cutting mat - not scissors as shown in the template!

*Sometimes the template doesn't print out at exactly the dimensions I've specified. In this case, go with the template!

When you cut where indicated on the template, the card will look like this. Only the tops of the hearts are cut out.
(this is a photo of the test card I did)

Score where indicated on the template and fold into mountains and valleys.

Cut the hearts out of the second template. Use this "stencil" as a mask for decorating the small hearts.

Use the Dotted Harlequin border from the Mini Images Compilation to stamp the little hearts with Brilliance Dewdrop Pearlescent Crimson. Highlight the dots and outline with the Gel Extreme Gold.

Use wire cutters to cut a gold leaf bail in two. Use these pieces to add "wings" to the smallest heart. Use a glue dot to hold the wings in place.

Use the second template to draw and cut 2 hearts from pink Bazzill cardstock. Stamp Love from the Life Journey words and Cherish from the Mini Images using Pearlescent Crimson. Use Glue Dots to adhere, slightly offset, as shown.

Stamp Forever from the Life Journey words with Brilliance Galaxy Gold and emboss with gold detail embossing powder.

Pierce 3 holes in a line with your awl and insert Heart Brads as shown.

Use your awl to pierce a hole in the top center of the open heart. Use gold thread to hang a heart charm and wind the thread around the heart, finishing with a bow.

Add the Self-Adhesive Gold Borders across the card as shown. Add your sweetie's name and it's a keeper!
