On
a full sheet of heavy weight white cardstock (8.5 x 11"),
start coloring with the Pan Pastels, applying first the Magenta
in several areas, then going beside these colors with the Violet,
then filling the rest of the white spaces with the Phthalo Blue
& Ultramarine Blue using the dried Costco wipe (or Sofft large
round sponge). Then with a clean area of the baby wipe and in
a circular motion blend the colors, but still keeping the essence
of the underlying colors. This will give a nice rich sky color.
Note:
You can spray your card at this point if you like, but I just
leave mine alone. I've blended enough that the color, unless
rubbed vigorously will stay put. Also some of the pastel will
probably wander to the inside, just blend that - you probably
won't be using the inside anyway.
Randomly
rubber stamp the stars all over using the Distress Dusty Concord.
Do some with more ink and some with less ink or just stamp twice
without re-inking.

Score
your card at the 4.25" h mark and bone fold. Make sure you
have a protective piece of paper on top of the Pastel card when
you bone fold. Trim off excess cardstock, then trim to a 7"w
card.
See
Diagram for visual reference. Solid lines are CUT lines and
dash lines are for folding. M stands for Mountain fold and V
for Valley fold.
Cut
your 2 vertical lines 1.3" from each side, and starting
at the 3/4" point, cutting up to the 6.3" point.
Now
with the Score-it board, score on either side of the cut lines
at 3/4", at the 1.5", at the 2.9" and the 6.3"
(the score at the 4.25" was already made above and you'll
notice part of it will be a valley fold and part will be a mountain
fold).
Note
there are many options to the size of your steps and after doing
this one - experiment. For this card it's important that the
section between your 1st valley fold at the bottom and your
center fold of the card is folded in half. The same goes for
the 3rd step should be folded in half between the center fold
of your card and the top edge.

Punch
out, die cut or hand cut a bunch of stars. (I used 3 of the 1st
3 sizes and one large). I then put them through my Xyron and sprinkled
my silver glitter in the center portion and the gold on the tips,
then burnished - VERY GENTLY, so as not to lift up the Xyron adhesive.
You can always touch it up with a bit of Quickie glue pen. |

Rubber
stamp the quote with Black Onyx and emboss with the Sapphire on
light weight white cardstock. Place your Spellbinder's largest
Labels Two die over the stamping, positioning it pleasingly. I
usually put a piece of tape, attaching the die to my cardstock,
on the outside edge, so it doesn't move when I flip it over onto
my magnetic mat. I die cut, put it through again to emboss, then
used it as a stencil, sponging some Faded Jeans around the edges.
While the stencil was still on, I rubber stamped a couple times
with the star stamp - just lightly near the edges. I adhered it
to the card with pop dots. |
|
|
I
started adhering the stars in a pleasing arrangement. For the
one on the the quote, I just adhered the larger one, then added
the smaller ones on top. I also made sure the stars on the side
didn't protrude further than my 7"width of my card and the
top ones stayed within the 5"height of the card. |
