Supplies you will need:

Instructions

Using the Japanese screw punch make holes in the book board - 2 sets of 2 holes, each set ½" from edge with ½" between holes.
Paint gesso onto bookboard, both sides and edges. Don't worry about brush strokes, they'll just add to the piece.
Paint the board with acrylic paint. I first mixed titan buff with a drop of orange and a drop of gray and painted the front and edges. Then I added a drop of azo gold and dabbed over the first coat. The back is painted with gray allowing brush strokes to show. Let dry.
A close up of part of the front of the board.
Using the Versamark ink pad rub ink over bottom part of board. Pour UTEE over ink, dump off extra giving the board a good flick to help get the extra off, heat UTEE just until melted, you want it to remain bumpy.

Close up showing the texture

Using a cosmetic sponge rub gesso over melted UTEE.
Mix titan buff and turquois acrylics and paint over UTEEd area. Mix more of the background color and blend with turquois mix where the colors meet to soften edge. Let dry. Dry brush background.
Stamp flourish around edges with turquois paint using a cosmetic sponge to "ink" the stamp. When finished, wash stamp immediately. Let dry.

Stamp saying on white cardstock with black ink, trim, rub with chalk using a cotton ball, sponge turquois paint on edges, let dry, and apply Microglaze as a sealer.

Remove small butterfly wings from Grungeboard pack and paint with a mix of the background color.

Sand white shrink plastic, stamp Hope with black ink, cut out, shrink, rub with chalk using a cotton ball, apply Microglaze as a sealer.

Use 24g wire (2 ¾") to make antenna for the butterfly, bending wire in half and adding a spiral to each end.

Adhere everything to board as shown. Cut 2 pieces of 20g wire to about 10", twist center area of both wires together, run ends through holes in board, twist together and then spiral the ends.
