Supplies you will need:

Instructions

To start the card:

Cut a strip of dark coloured cardstock that is 3" wide and 12" long.

Use a soapstone pencil to draw a line approximately 1/2" along the bottom. The soapstone pencil line easily brushes off when you are done.

Writing your message

Use the Inkssentials pen to letter a greeting. Just use your handwriting! It's such a special touch.

Making the Funky Scor-it Letters

Print out your full size letter guide. Click here to open and print the guide.

You may wish to make yourself a template before you start by drawing out the word or name on a piece of copy paper. That way you will know how long your card will be!

Create your own letter shapes - you may have better ideas than mine!

Don't try to make your letters perfectly - think Funky!

Use your template to help you "draw" each line.

You may wish to practice on some copy paper. I often use my left hand to feel the rail under the cardstock if I am going to match up 2 strokes of a letter.

Use the Scor-it board near the middle of the rail. You won't need the centering ruler for this step!

Continue until you have made all the letters.

Trim your cardstock if necessary.
You may wish to stop here and turn your card into an accordion or.....

Here I just used my finger to rub on Sunburst from Luster Rub-Ons Color Kit #4. You can layer colours or use a different color on each letter. It's up to your playful whims!

Depending on how hard you pressed, how dark your cardstock is or how patterned or textured your paper is, you may wish to highlight the Scor-it letters with Rub-On Metallics or a pigment stamp pad. You should do this before you create your accordion folds.

Mount your card on another piece of cardstock using double-sided tape.

Now you can use the Scor-it the way it was intended. Use the centering guide to score half way along your card and then score each side in half to make 4 equal panels.

Add some brads for a special detail

Fold your card and give it to someone special!
