Instructions

1.

Let them Eat Cupcakes

Repeatedly rubber stamp the small cupcakes (they're 3 little cupcakes) onto white cardstock with Perfect Medium and thermal embossed them with clear embossing powder. Tape down cardstock to a solid surface and sprayed the cardstock with lots of water. Drop or brush Ecoline inks on cardstock.

Let dry completely, then trim it down to size.

Use a dry iron and several sheets of plain newsprint to lift off the clear embossing. Rubber stamp cupcake and 2 word sentiments using Versafine Black stamp pad.

Use the Brass stencil and the white paste over one of the images. When dry, color it with Pebbles pearlescent chalks, and a marker for the cherry. Add some Diamond Glaze to make it shiny.

2.

A Friend is Someone

Background Technique

Use a white waxed crayon to put linear lines unevenly spaced both horizontally and vertically on your white cardstock.

Tape cardstock to a solid surface, then spray it with water - brush or dropper Ecolines onto surface. Let dry.

Making the Card

Stamp "A friend is someone" and "Flourished Heart" using Versafine black stamp pad. Add some red Ritz Glitter in the heart. Mount this to an ochre toned Bazzill Monochrom cardstock, then onto a deep brown cardstock.

3.

Love where you're at

Background Technique

Use glossy paper (Yogi used Glossy Photo paper) and stamp images with Ranger’s Resist stamp pad. Heat set.

Put a few drops of Ecoline inks on a craft melt art mat (not mixed together) and pick up color on the edge of a clean Inkssentials sponge tool, enough to color, but not saturated.

Sponge over the whole paper, picking up more ink as needed. Mist paper with water to allow inks to merge/blend; pickup excess water with a paper towel. Yogi dabbed a bit more than usual to get a more muted color scheme. Let dry.

Making the card

Punch some of the background resist paper you have created with the EK Success Morocco Lace border punch - punch a couple of the scalloped shapes on one side, then on the other side, making sure the overall width of the scallops are the same width as the background design. Cut the strip between the scallops.

Rubber stamp the words using Versafine "Majestic Blue" pad, then put them aside.

Stamp quote on Bazzill Monochrom cardstock in an orangey ochre tone with the same blue. Mount it to the resist background paper you have created.

For details on making the flowers, see Yogi's instructions here.

Every Blade In the Field

Background Technique:

Yogi ran Saunders Waterford 140# HP watercolor paper through Cuttlebug using the Dreamweaver Stencil #LL339 Gingko, but found the watercolor paper was a bit too thick to get a good impression. So she ran it through again using the Swiss Dots Cuttlebug embossing folder.

While still in the embossing folder, run a wax resist crayon over the high points.

Remove from the folder and tape it to a solid surface. Wet the paper with a spray bottle, then brushed on colors (Deep ochre, Burnt Sienna, Forest Green & Saffron Yellow).

Let dry.

[Note from Yogi: I liked the colors but still wanted the gingko leaves. So I dry embossed them by hand with a large stylus and used a Ranger sponge tool to add color to the edges so they were more visible against the background.]

Making the Card:

Trim the background paper to a little larger than an ATC size. Mounted it to a dark green cardstock. Use a Bazzill Monochrom orangey ochre toned cardstock and rubber stamp the gingko leaves all over it with a pigment ink and gold embossing powder.

Rubber stamped the quote onto a yellow toned vellum using Versafine stamp pad in Vintage Sepia and touching some spots with Onyx Black.

Thermal set the ink.

Position the vellum over the embossed gingko background and trim the vellum. Double sided tape in the area where the other background piece would be, then added dark green brads in the corners. Adhere the Ecoline background with double sided tape. Rubber stamp a pair of gingko leaves with the Black Onyx and color them in with colored pencils. (put some double sided tape on the back prior cutting them out, then adhered them to the card)

Each of Us Has a Song

Background Technique:

Run a piece of Saunders Waterford 140# HP watercolor paper through Cuttlebug using the Musical Notes embossing folder. While the paper is still in the folder, with the raised design facing you, run a wax resist crayon over all the high points. Removed from folder and tape it to a solid surface. Sprayed the paper with water and dribbled or brush the Ecolines all over it. Use the end of a bamboo skewer to add the gold Ecoline.

Making the Card:

Cut the background paper into frame shapes with about 3mm between each frame. Mount them to a Canson Essentials textured blue paper. Rubber stamp the quote using Versafine Vintage Sepia on a matching blue cardstock, then attach it to the background.

Rubber stamp the brown card repeatedly with the musical notes stamp using pigment ink and then thermal emboss with Gold embossing powder. Mounted the background assemblage to it. Rubber stamped the "My friend" on blue paper and cut out a free shaped heart and attached it to the card.

If you Need a Shoulder

Background Technique

Stamp images with Ranger’s resist stamp pad on Glossy cardstock. Heat set. Put a few drops of Ecoline inks (Ultramarine Violet & Carmine) on a heat risistant craft mat (not mixed together) and pick up color on the edge of a clean Inkssentials sponge tool. Just enough to color, but not saturated, and sponge over the whole CS, picking up more ink as needed

Then

1) Mist CS with water to allow inks to merge/blend; pick up excess water with a paper towel, just in the puddles. Let dry.

OR

2) Mist the melt art mat instead and placed the cardstock face down in the moisture and move it around a bit. Lift it up and let dry.

Making the Card

Rubber stamped the quote "If you need a shoulder" with Versafine "Majestic Blue" on background paper. Mount background paper onto deep blue metallic cardstock.

Stamp large flourish randomly on dark blue cardstock with Versamark and emboss with Clear embossing powder. Gate-fold the card and adhere the quote to only the left side of the gate-fold.

The large flourish is a Sizzix Bigz die Decorative Accents #8. Punch this flourish out of double sided tape and stick it to card. Remove the release paper and added Ritz Glitter micro fine glitter in Blue Teal, Rose and Stardust. Burnish well to get the sparkle.

Leave Room in the Garden

Background Technique

Stamp butterflies with Ranger’s resist stamp pad on Glossy white cardstock. Heat set

1) Put a few drops of Ecoline inks (Ultramarine Violet & Carmine) on a melt art mat (not mixed together) and pick up color on the edge of a clean Inkssentials sponge tool. Just enough to color, but not saturated, and sponge over the whole CS, picking up more ink as needed. Mist CS with water to allow inks to merge/blend; pickup excess water with a paper towel, just in the puddles. Let dry.

2) Go over the whole CS with Yellow Ochre using the sponge tool, working in a circular motion and the butterflies start to become visible on the page. Use a clean corner of the sponge tool, slightly wet, and with a circular motion exposed the butterflies even more.

Making the Card

Rubber stamp "Leave room in your garden" using a Versafine black stamp pad onto background paper as shown. Mount this to a thick green mulberry paper then onto a purple toned cardstock.

Rubber stamped the faerie on white cardstock, color it with Copic Markers and Tombows and added glitter on the wings, then cut it out.

The flower branch is a Sizzix Bigz die Decorative Leaves & Flowers #655367. Punch thick mulberry paper in a brown and a gold flecked green. Adhered them to the page then adhere the faerie.

Use 2 small punches for the purple flowers; an elongated heart shape and an 8 petal floret. Punch them out of handmade marbled rice paper. Assemble and glue them together, then added some yellow stickles.

8.

Papillon

Background Technique

Stamp butterflies with Ranger’s resist stamp pad on Glossy white cardstock. Heat set

1) Put a few drops of Ecoline inks (Ultramarine Violet & Carmine) on a melt art mat (not mixed together) and pick up color on the edge of a clean Inkssentials sponge tool. Just enough to color, but not saturated, and sponge over the whole CS, picking up more ink as needed. Mist CS with water to allow inks to merge/blend; pickup excess water with a paper towel, just in the puddles. Let dry.

2) Go over parts of the CS with Ultramarine using the sponge tool, working in a circular motion, and the butterflies start to become visible on the page. Use a clean corner of your sponge tool, slightly wet, and with a circular motion exposed the butterflies even more.

PS depending on the amount of misting you do, less misting gives nice speckled look, wet gives a more blended look.

Making the Card

Rubber stamp "Papillon" with Versafine "Imperial Purple" stamp pad onto background paper.

Stamp "Thank You" and thermal embossed it with Gold embossing powder. Mount this to a pink toned "Bling" cardstock then onto a deep purple cardstock.

The large butterfly (Dreamweaver Stencil) had first a layer of translucent and then the edges were carefully overfilled with gold, and everything was lightly sprinkled with Ritz Glitter Micro Fine "Stardust".

You may see all these cards on Yogi's website with some additional images
