I used plain white c/s and drizzled black craft acrylics all over it, á la Jackson Pollock. While the pages were drying, I drew b's in a style I liked on white card, painted them with 'Folkart Metallic Sequin Black' which happily dried shiny. After they dried I outlined them with Pilot Super Color Silver Extra Fine Permanent type ink, which is like a fine Krylon, then cut them out I stamped the Butterfly from Close to my Heart set 'Flutter', again outlined them with Pilot Super Color Silver Extra Fine Permanent type ink, and cut them out. I attached everything to the base page with transparent silicone so the elements would stand out. When I chose B, I was thinking entirely black and white with b words. When it was done, I realizes it was a little stark and harsh, not at all what I wanted so I showed a friend. They suggested a little colour but I didn't like that idea as it was to be all B&W! When I experimented, I realized my friend was right and stuck on 4, yes 4, not 3, not 5, but 4 colour dots in amongst the lines and instantly was happy. |
