Instructions

Use a sewing tape measure to measure your head - you can always make it smaller later. (Not your head - the crown!) This one started at 23".

Cut 1/2" strips of dark coloured cardstock and glue or tape them together to make a long strip which is the length of your head measurement.

Die cut and emboss three strips of Fleur De Lis border using the darker cardstock. At the same time, you can cut and emboss a set of the little insert flags from Banner Basics 2 of the same dark colour.

Die cut and emboss 5 strips from Banner Basics 2 using lighter coloured cardstock.

Cut and emboss more of the little insert flags using the darker cardstock until you have enough for all the banner strips.

Where the gold is showing through the die is where you will be applying the Jones Tones Plexi - remove the cardstock from the die before you add the gold foil.

Place the Fleur De Lis border back on its die. Use a small utility brush to appy Jones Tones Plexi glue on the cut out portions of die. This glue is not runny so will not easily seep under the die. Carefully remove the cardstock from the die and set aside to dry. Repeat with the other two pieces.

When the Jones Tones Plexi glue is dry, it will be translucent, but still tacky. Place the transfer foil shiny side up onto the glue and rub with your finger to transfer the foil to the glue. Repeat with all your Fleur De Lis borders

Use glue or double sided tape to attach the contrasting flag inserts onto the Banner Basics 2 strip. Repeat for all flags.

Place your double-sided tape along the bottom edge of your headband. Position the Banner Basics 2 strip so that none of the headband appears in the gap between the flags. Attach the rest of the Banner pieces along the length of the headband making sure that when you add a new Banner, the gap between the flags is consistant. You may want to trim or overlap the ends of the Banner pieces.

Trim the excess from the headband so that it is no longer visible from the front.

Backside of the headband.

Mark the center of your band with a soapstone pencil - tweak the "center" so it is in the middle of a flag.
Make marks 1" on either side of the center mark.

Apply double-sided tape to the back of the Fleur De Lis Border

Tape the Fleur De Lis border to the top of the headband working from the marks as shown above (Leave a gap!), slightly covering the tops of the Banner flags.

Stamp Queen of and Everything on a piece of natural coloured cardstock using Night Sky VersaMagic Dewdrop.

Allow to dry.

Position appropriately sized Classic Oval Small Die and die cut and emboss with Grand Calibur or other die cutting machine. Die cut and emboss blue cardstock with next size larger Classic Oval Large Die. Glue or tape quote-stamped oval to the larger blue oval. There will be a 1/8" blue border around the quote.

Die cut and emboss two Fleur De Lis medallions from gold cardstock. Cut one apart and glue or tape the gold pieces to the back of the blue oval to create your Queen Medallion. Don't you think this would make a pretty cool lapel pin? :-)

Center the Queen Medallion and use double-sided tape to attach it to the headband as shown. Curl headband until it is the correct diameter for the head in question, trim so there is a slight overlap and use glue or double-sided tape to secure.
